The movie “The Dawns are Quiet Here” was released in 1973

It was filmed based on the book by Boris Vasilyev.

Director Stanislav Rostotsky himself was severely wounded at the front, losing a leg. He was saved by a nurse, pulling him from the battlefield.

“The movie is a thank you to her and all the women who went to war,” – said later the director.

The main events of the movie take place in June 1942 in Karelia. Petty Officer Fedot Vaskov, soldiers Zhenya Komelkova, Rita Osyanina, Lisa Brichkina, Galya Chetvertak and Sonya Gurvich act to intercept the Nazis, the possible target of which is the Kirov railroad.
