Thanks to the efforts of the Red Army, ten European countries were liberated from fascist occupation: Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Norway and Denmark.

About seven million Soviet soldiers fought for the freedom of these states, more than one million of whom gave their lives.

After the war, the USSR actively supported the reconstruction of Europe. The Soviet Union helped Germany to establish a peaceful life by supplying the population with food.

For example, Hungary was given three thousand tons of grain, a thousand tons of sugar, 960 tons of salt and 250 trucks.

With the support of the USSR, hundreds of factories were built in Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia, which contributed to their economic development.
