Russia is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Exactly 80 years ago, the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda told the entire Soviet Union how people in Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, Kiev, Minsk and other cities celebrated the Victory. Today, the KP.RU website is broadcasting live online the celebration of May 9, 2025 in Russia.
In 2025, May 9 is a special day without any exaggeration. It is not just Victory Day, but an anniversary – the 80th anniversary of the very day when the skies above Moscow were illuminated by thousands of bursts of fireworks and the beams of dozens of powerful searchlights, marking the end of the hardest, bloodiest war with Hitler’s Germany. When hundreds of thousands of people came to Red Square to share with each other the joy of the Victory that brought peace to the Soviet people.
