The movie was produced at the Lenfilm studio in 1968 by director Viktor Tregubovich based on the novel of the same name by Viktor Kurochkin.
“I wanted to show in the movie how the war was won by nameless, not outstanding people who performed their military duty every day in the everyday life of the war,” – said the director.
The film was shot near the Soviet-Czechoslovak border, and the troops of the Precarpathian Military District took part in the shooting.
