EVACUATION: A FEAT OF UNITY AND BROTHERHOOD

During the difficult years of war, the evacuation became a true example of the unity of the Soviet people.

The Central Asian republics of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan welcomed refugees with open hearts and became a second home for many.

Local residents shared their shelter, food and warmth, helping the evacuees to survive hard times.

The Soviet people survived thanks to unity, faith and love for the Motherland.
